Terms of Service
Last Updated: March 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
At Clint Hood Plumbing, we believe in doing business the old-fashioned way: with a handshake and clear, upfront communication. However, to protect both your property and our family business, we require these formalized terms of service. When you hire us for any plumbing job—whether we are replacing a septic pump in Beaufort or clearing a drain in Emerald Isle—you are agreeing to the terms laid out below. As a fully insured NC Master Plumber, my goal is to provide you with permanent, code-compliant solutions, and these terms simply help us ensure that every job across Carteret County runs smoothly, safely, and transparently.
2. Service Scope and Availability
Clint Hood Plumbing provides residential and commercial plumbing services, including but not limited to emergency repairs, water heater installations, drain cleaning, pipeline inspections, and fixture replacements. Our primary service areas encompass Newport, Morehead City, Beaufort, Havelock, Emerald Isle, Atlantic Beach, Cape Carteret, Swansboro, and Jacksonville. We reserve the right to decline service requests outside our standard operational radius or in situations that pose safety hazards to our expert technicians. While we strive to provide 24/7 emergency response, service availability is subject to weather conditions (such as severe coastal storms or hurricanes), technician availability, and current dispatch loads.
3. Estimates, Pricing, and Payment
We operate on a transparent pricing model. Following a thorough onsite diagnostic assessment, our technicians will present you with a comprehensive estimate detailing the scope of work, parts required, and total cost. No significant work will commence without your explicit authorization. Prices quoted are valid for 30 days. Payment is due in full upon completion of the authorized service unless prior alternative billing arrangements have been contractually established. We accept major credit cards, verified checks, and cash. Delinquent accounts may be subject to late fees, collection costs, and reasonable attorney's fees incurred in the pursuit of unpaid balances for services rendered.
4. Property Access and Customer Responsibilities
By scheduling a service, you grant our technicians authorized access to your property specifically for the purpose of diagnosing, estimating, and performing the requested plumbing work. It is your ultimate responsibility to ensure that the immediate work area is free from hazardous materials, pets are secured, and delicate or valuable items are removed or protected prior to our arrival. We require that a responsible adult (18 years or older), legally authorized to approve work and sign invoices, be present during the service appointment. We are not liable for delays caused by restricted access, locked gates, or uncooperative tenants.
5. Warranties and Guarantees
Clint Hood Plumbing stands firmly behind the quality of our craftsmanship. We provide a limited warranty on labor for installations and major repairs, strictly covering workmanship defects for a period clearly specified on your final invoice (typically one year). Materials, fixtures, and appliances supplied by us are covered exclusively by their respective manufacturer's warranties. Our labor warranty is immediately voided if the plumbing system or specific installed components are subjected to abuse, improper maintenance, unauthorized modifications, freezing damage due to customer negligence, or tampering by unqualified third parties subsequent to our service.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permissible by applicable North Carolina law, Clint Hood Plumbing and Drain Cleaning shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with the plumbing services provided. This includes, but is not limited to, damages relating to loss of use, loss of data, property damage resulting from unforeseeable structural failures, pre-existing pipe degradation, or delays in procuring specialized parts. Our aggregate liability under these terms shall not exceed the total amount actually paid by you for the specific service call giving rise to the claim.
7. Unforeseen Conditions and Hidden Defects
Plumbing systems, particularly in older coastal properties or those subject to heavy salt air, often conceal structural or infrastructural issues behind drywall or underground. If, during the execution of authorized work, our technicians discover significant hidden defects, severe corrosion, asbestos, mold, or code violations that require immediate remediation before the plumbing work can safely continue, we will pause operations and promptly provide a revised estimate. We are not responsible for pre-existing infrastructural damage or the cost to repair walls, floors, or ceilings necessarily opened to access concealed plumbing.
8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms, and any disputes arising from or relating to our services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding related to these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in the state or federal courts located within Carteret County, North Carolina, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
9. Modifications to Terms
We may revise and update these Terms of Service from time to time at our sole discretion. All changes are effective immediately when we post them on our website and apply to all access to and use of our services thereafter. Your continued use of our services following the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes.
